Julie lost 2 stone and 2 dress sizes with DietAssist

“I had never really thought my weight issues were about what was going on inside my head”

Julie used DietAssist to change her behaviours around food, and she lost over 2 stone and dropped 2 dress sizes in just 6 weeks. Here’s her story in her own words.

“Weight had been an issue most of my life, I had tried every diet… you name it and I had tried it. I’d lose a bit but always ended up putting the weight back on. I’d have a good week but then have a bad week and found it really demotivating, wondering why I was paying to go to meetings.

I wanted a new approach, something that I hadn’t tried before, so I started DietAssist and it was really easy. I downloaded the programme onto my phone and listened to it on the way to work, during my lunch hour or when I had a spare 10 minutes. It was great, really easy to follow.

I had never really thought my weight issues were about what was going on inside my head. All of a sudden, I felt in control, no longer constantly thinking about food or what I am eating next. I eat smaller portions and don’t pick.

Before starting DietAssist, I did everything to excess: chocolate, takeaways, alcohol. I didn’t really think about it and if I fancied a pizza, a donut at work, or going out for a few drinks or a curry, I’d think, ‘yeah… why not?’

But now, I find it so much easier to make healthy choices and I naturally go for a smaller portions too. If I do serve up too much, I can just leave it – rather than eat everything on my plate like I used to. At home, we still have naughty stuff in the cupboard, I know it is there but I don’t want it. Before, I could clear it out over the weekend, now, it is still there but I just don’t want to eat it which is something completely new for me.

I have still been out and since starting the programme I have also been on holiday. Before DietAssist, I’ve been on holiday and could put on a stone in a week – which isn’t funny  – but this time, I lost two pounds.

I know it is because I am not being pushed to follow anything, I don’t have to follow a strict regime or buy expensive shakes or bars, I am doing what I know is right in my head.

I am really confident going forward, I know I’ve got a long way to go but I know I can do it. I have been out for meals, I have been out with friends, but instead of going for the most humongous calorific thing on the menu and having a dessert as well, I now make healthier choices without even thinking about it.

I go for things that are better for me. My partner now loves it too as before, I used to eat all of his food, but now I’m giving him mine. I know its there, but I don’t want it.

It is the first time I have ever given away chips or a dessert. It is easy to give it away, it is so easy, I don’t even have to think about it.

I would recommend it to anyone that wants to lose weight.”
